“Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.” ~ Brene Brown

Hello friends,
For almost a year, I’ve allowed this site to grow dormant. So much life around me, around you, has changed, for better or worse.
And now I feel ready to return, to take root in something worth while again. I began this site as a way to track & journal about my adventures and I had high (maybe too high) hopes and plans for it to grow into something more. Something part-scholarly, part-catharsis… but ended up being full stress. So I walked away.
But this past year (past decade really) has taught me a lot about myself, what I’m capable of and what I hope to prioritize in this next decade.
I’ve learned…
- That creating from a place of genuine love is essential not only for yourself but for any sustainable venture
- That it’s important to have few or no expectations… only positive hopes
- That it’s vital to PLAY… have fun and get lost in the moment for it might just lead you to the answer you’ve been searching for

So, with that, I am excited to announce I will be taking up roots in a new home soon! A place I will have room to grow and spread out my creative energy, to go outside and play in the dirt, create a solid studio space, get messy with homemade dyes, start building out a woodworking shop and who knows what else.
I have hopes (not expectations 😉) for this home and what it will allow my partner and I to do. Some of those hopes include:
- A minimalist approach – keeping only what I need and what brings joy to my life, not every space needs to be filled
- Meditation room – we have a spare room in the basement that I hope to craft into a sacred space for yoga and meditation practice
- Plastic-free – I’ve already started going plastic-free with my bathroom and kitchen as much as I can but hope to take this further as we settle in
- Slow living – Rejecting fast fashion, fast food, and constant consumption of digital entertainment in order to invite more moments to live in the present
- Contentment – We have plenty, more than enough, and do not need anything more to make our lives happy

As for this blog, like I said above, I don’t want to set any specific expectations on it or create a rigid schedule for how/what/when I will publish posts. I will allow it to happen organically and from a place of love. ❤️ That said, I do have some idea of what sort of content I want to write about including but not limited to:
- Art & Craft
- Harp & Music
- Textiles!
- Processes of Making
- Art History & History
- Slow living (in its various forms)
- Spiritual practices
- Death
- Gardening
- Finishing Projects
- Mental Health
So if any of that sounds interesting to you, I would be so honored to have you come along with me on this journey 🤗
One last thing before we part… I’ve been working on a stitch sampler for a long time now. It started as a reminder of a very important fact…
“YOU ARE LOVED”
And I’m almost done with it (nearly 4 years later). Loving yourself and putting in the time for your ideas is essential for discovering and living your truth. I hope you find a quiet moment today to be kind to yourself and take a moment to do something you love.

With all my love,
Lisa 🎶
Not only are you loved, you are heard, and you are relevant.
